La Becterie is a rural wheelchair-friendly and families oriented B&B at the heart of Cotentin. Its central location makes it a perfect place to explore the Manche peninsula; a true Cotentin guesthouse — inside and out.
Although located on the english channel and known for its coasts, Manche is mostly a countryside region. La Becterie is a typical example of an ancient farm dating from the 15th century with large stone walls, a pasture and a large woodland sloping garden. Calm and nature sounds await you in La Becterie making it a fantastic place to rest
DINNER AT LA BECTERIE
Willing to dine at home ? Very fine! For I like to cook ! French or international cuisine – vegetarian food sometimes. It depends on food I find on markets
- Specific requests according to your tastes and allergies are gladly accepted.
- We serve seafood plates. Quotation on request – we work with a local fishmonger shop
DESIGNED FOR WHEELCHAIR
The guesthouse ground floor and its room Noirmoutier have been designed to host disabled people. Easy to navigate with a wheelchair, easy to take a showershower; people in wheelchairs are welcome !
More generally, all people with difficulties to move will appreciate the room’s facilities, among which elderly people. Specific adaptations can be discussed
PLAYROOM
Stay in our rooms, have dinner and a boardgame party. We have a dedicated playroom for such moments. Billard, foosball (vintage Bonzini) and 75+ games available. Contact us for more details !

Bricquebec-en-Cotentin
Ideally located, Bricquebec is a small town with much history. The XII century castle’s court is still complete and the keep can be visited during summer months – the view from the keep’s top is worth the climb.
The city offers a wide range of very active and friendly shops. Market takes place on Monday and offers all types of sea food, delicious french cheese and a large range of locally grown vegatables.

- 12 minutes far from west coast and its seemingly endless beaches. Sciotot has beach restaurants, beach-volley tournaments, sand yatch, surf, wonderfull sunsets
- 15 minutes to "le moulin à vent du Cotentin"
- 15 minutes to "Silence ça pousse", Stéphane Marie's garden
- 20 minutes far to Valognes, la petite Versailles normande
- 25 minutes far to La Hague, and its famous chemin des douaniers
- 25 minutes to Cherbourg and its famous museum "La Cité de la Mer"
- 25 minutes far from La Hague entrance - Biville and Vauville Botanical garden
- 28 minutes to D-day area: Saint-Mère église, Sainte-Marie du Mont and then Utah beach
- 40 minutes far from east coast - Barfleur and Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue and Tatihou island
- 2 hours drive from Mont Saint-Michel

Manche's west coast offers seemingly endless landscapes and remarkable vantage points. Biville's dunes are close, Carteret even more. Looking for a quick win for a fresh dive ? Surtainville is our favorite beach! Only 15 minutes far from the house.
SPACIOUS ACCOMODATION
Our suites are the most spacious in Cotentin - from 33 up-to 56m² - and each has a unique decoration theme. Here, luxury is all about space and calm! Guests usually say these are the most spacious rooms they have ever seen
A shared lounge awaits you. The gaming area, that includes 50+ boardgames, foosball and a snooker pool is also available

"Ele achou um paraiso" / "He found himself a paradise" - Isolda, August 2021. Wandering the garden and enjoying the sunset are both must-do summer activities. The west facing terace is a great place to enjoy sunset
